## Summary

Toronto Blue Jays oversized logo necklace, 4-color multi-color print
on Bambu A1 without AMS. Source design: Salvadori3D (MakerWorld),
1.1 MB standard-scale `.3mf`. Uses white-shows-through optimization
via Bambu Studio Color Painter to reduce manual swap count from ~80
to under 25.

## Status updates

- 2026-05-27: project created, workdir initialized, canonical 3MF
  copied in, workflow planned per multicolor reference guide v1.1
- 2026-05-28 (morning): mesh-edit checkpoint saved. Planning-Claude developed
  programmatic .3mf mesh editing (trimesh + lxml + raw XML). Terraced
  Z-band approach reduces ~80 AMS-era swaps to 3 manual swaps
  (W→LB→RED→DB at Z=4.0, 5.0, 6.0). `bluejays_FINAL_v2.3mf` (visual)
  and `bluejays_FINAL_print.3mf` (print) saved to workdir. Print
  NOT started. Sam: "still not exactly what i need" — refine on
  return. See intake.md §Mesh-editing optimization.
- 2026-05-28 (evening): session 2 pivoted from terraced height-stack
  to **nested-tier extrusions** after FINAL_v3 / v4 still showed
  mangled geometry at interlocking color boundaries. Canonical print
  spec articulated: Phase 1 White (Z=-7→2), Phase 2 Dark Blue covers
  DB+LB+RED (Z=2→4), Phase 3 Light Blue covers LB+RED (Z=4→5),
  Phase 4 Red only (Z=5→7) — 3 manual M600 swaps total. Session-2
  iterations (FINAL_v3 / v4 / NESTED_TIERS + 4 PNG renders +
  handoff prompt) stay in Sam's Downloads — NOT promoted. Project
  handed to a fresh planning-chat with full image budget. Substrate

- **2026-05-28 (evening) — ✅ PRINTED.** Toronto Blue Jays medallion
  printed successfully on Bambu A1 (no AMS) via manual-multicolor
  terraced-tier method. Validated parameters: 0.2 mm layers,
  1.2 mm (6-layer) tiers, finish Z 13.0. Three M600 swaps at
  **L46 / L52 / L58** → plate-Z **9.0 / 10.2 / 11.4**
  (W → klein DB → light blue → red). Filaments: Sunlu PLA+ white +
  light blue `#0065CA` + klein dark blue `#004080` + red. Chain in
  klein dark blue. Print-chat validated mapping corrections (tag `4`
  = white bail loop, not red — see intake.md §Mesh-editing
  optimization correction note). Beats 2026-06-07 Donlin deadline by
  10 days.
- 2026-05-29: substrate caught up to actuals — intake.md mapping +
  Z-swap corrections applied, `## Print success` section added with
  validated parameters, `## Print chat handoff` structured-equivalent
  appendix added. Learnings folded into multicolor-without-ams
  reference guide v1.2. Bambu A1 dossier successful-prints list
  updated. Status: in-progress → complete.
